TARGET PURIFICATION

At NMX, purification strategies are tailored to each target's physicochemical properties and downstream applications. NMX purification workflow is designed to deliver a target with a high purity, structural integrity, and functional stability, whether for structural studies, biochemical assays, or therapeutic development.

From harvested cell pellets to final buffer optimization, our purification pipelines are specific for each target and scientifically driven. We use a combination of different chromatographic techniques to ensure that the final product meets the required quality.

Why NMX?

Protein purification isn’t just about removing cell organelles, protein contaminants or additives, but also delivering a high quality, functional and stable protein. At NMX, we understand that the client downstream experimental results depend on the quality of the delivered sample. Therefore, we combine customized experimental design, a range of chromatographic tools, and rigorous QC to deliver a high-quality product that you can trust.

Our NMX team adjusts the purification workflow based on the physicochemical properties of each target including size, isoelectric point (pI), charge, solubility, and sulfhydryl/disulfide content. Whether you're working with a well-characterized target or a novel construct, the NMX team develops and executes purification strategies that preserve structural and functional integrity for downstream studies.

From small-scale pilot purifications to multi-step polishing protocols, NMX is your partner in achieving reliable and reproducible protein samples.

Protein Purification

A purification process is the separation of the target from a crowded mixture of various biological materials.

Different chromatographic techniques are used to purify targets according to their physicochemical properties.

  • Affinity chromatography (poly histidine, GST, etc.)

  • Ion Exchange chromatography (Q/SP Sepharose, etc.)

  • Size-Exclusion chromatography (SEC)

Aside from a specifically designed chromatography approach, NMX's purification workflow manages careful sample preparation. For instance, cell lysis protocols are established to ensure efficient protein extraction, using mechanical or chemical methods, while avoiding degradation or aggregation to maintain target stability and activity.
