Protein Production Offerings at NMX ___________________

A significant number of our clients rely on NMX to produce their proteins, whether as a singular service or as a precursor to further biophysical studies at NMX. Our structural biology and biochemistry teams ensure your proteins are produced efficiently with carefully monitored purity, ensuring the highest quality for your experiments.

NMX offers this high-quality protein production using different expression systems, adjusting the system to your target:

  • E. coli — Fast, large scale, and cost-efficient for soluble and tagged proteins

  • Baculovirus/insect cells — Ideal for complex proteins and proper folding

  • Human cells — For native post-translational modifications

  • Cell-free system — Flexible and rapid for toxic, membrane, or labeled proteins

In addition, NMX specializes in the co-expression and in vitro reconstitution of:

  • Protein–Protein complexes

  • Protein–RNA complexes

  • Multicomponent assemblies (including scaffolding and dynamic partners)

NMX can progress your drug discovery project at any stage, from initial target ID or production to the final lead optimization stages!

Conscience Symposium on Open Drug Discovery

The NMX team attended the Conscience Symposium on Open Drug Discovery earlier this month in downtown Montreal, meeting with researchers from around the world looking to improve the sharing of information and utilization of AI within the field of drug discovery.

From early-stage discovery to later phase clinical trials, open science can allow for greater collaboration and progress for all entities involved. Importantly, this can be achieved while simultaneously protecting crucial IP, which is of great importance to those in the private sector.

Thank you to Conscience hosting this insightful event!

Montreal NMR Manager's Meeting

The Montreal NMR Managers Meeting happened last week at the RI-MUHC, co-organized by Anne-Laure Larroque (Proteomics and Molecular Analysis Platform, Institute-MUHC) and Paul White (NMX Research and Solutions).

We appreciated the discussions and insights, particularly regarding the unique challenges faced by NMR users in Canada. Despite current politico-economic challenges, NMR continues to be highly important for research and is thriving in Canada.

NMX would also like to extend special thanks to Tim Bergeron at JEOL for sponsoring the lunch and informing on exciting new JEOL developments, as well as Tara Sprules for help with organizing and coordinating.

Thanks to all for attending – see you next year!
