NMX is a leader in the field of biophysics and NMR for drug discovery, boasting an established and comprehensive biophysics and Fragment-Based Lead Discovery (FBLD) platform. With an interdisciplinary team possessing a wide range of expertise — covering chemistry, biochemistry, biology, physics, and bioinformatics — NMX is well-equipped to find optimal solutions for even your most complex projects.

NMX can help initiate your drug discovery projects or jump in at any stage of an ongoing process, from initial target ID, to screening, to final lead optimization stages. By supporting clients throughout the entire Gene-To-Lead (GTL) workflow, we can help avoid common pitfalls or bottlenecks which slow down progress during lead identification or the overall FBLD process. Whether our role is as small as producing a target or collecting simple NMR data, or as large as carrying out a complete and comprehensive GTL workflow or biophysical analysis, NMX is up for the task – on your timeline.

Working on a new biologics therapy requiring thorough characterization? Unable to get instrument time to obtain data? Need to outsource data analysis for lack of resources? NMX is comfortable addressing these needs and more! We can even experimentally validate data obtained by AI/Virtual Screens, carrying out a host of biophysical experiments and assays to assess native conformations and activities.

With your project goals in mind, NMX will work with you to bring your compounds from potential hits to successful leads

We are more than a CRO – NMX is your Contract Research Partner!

Montreal NMR Managers Meeting

After a small hiatus and online presence during the pandemic, the Montreal NMR Managers Meeting is back again in hybrid fashion! Organized by Anne-Laure Larroque (Proteomics and Molecular Analysis Platform, Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre – RI-MUHC) and Paul White (NMX Research and Solutions), we are excited to meet once more to discuss new developments, tips and tricks in the field of NMR.

The event will take place on April 16th, 2025 at the RI-MUHC starting at 11AM, with a welcome coffee sponsored by NMX Research and Solutions and a complementary lunch sponsored by JEOL

The RI-MUHC is accessible by metro, bike, or EXO train at the Vendome station. For those that are coming from out of town or for whom active transit is not an option, paid parking is available in the hospital lot.

If you are interested in attending, please send an email to nmx@nmxresearch.com to reserve your spot.

NMX is looking forward to seeing you while discussing the latest and greatest in NMR!

ACS Omega

In a recently published article in ACS Omega, NMX and collaborators from the INRS explored a structurally conserved pocket on the surface of HRas – Pocket SI/II – as a potential target site for HRAS inhibitors.

A crystal structure of GDP-bound HRas was successfully obtained, representing its native state in order to characterize the topology of pocket SI/II. From this crystal structure, MD simulations were employed to explore the dynamics of the pocket in various conformations as four model structures. These simulations showed that the SI/II pocket is less accessible in the GDP bound form, but is more accessible in state 1 GppNHp-bound systems, implying that the GTP-bound state is a promising form for Ras inhibition.

As HRas is often considered to be an “undruggable” target, this development is a crucial step towards effective targeting of this oncogenic class of proteins.
